In 1904, at the age of 24, Helen Keller graduated from Radcliffe, becoming the first "deaf blind" person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. This prolific author is quoted as saying, "The only thing worse than being blind, is to have sight but no vision."
God's vision for the lost?
2Pe 3:9 - The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness,
but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but
that all should reach repentance.
Mk. 16:15 - And he said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the
gospel to the whole creation."
Act 2:21 - And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name
of the Lord shall be saved.
Mat 24:14 - And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the
world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end
come.
To make sure we aren't running the race in vain requires that we have God's original vision for our life and the life of the Church. What God sees is what we need to see and proclaim.
What does God see for individual Believers?
2 Cor. 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has
passed away; behold, the new has come.
Eph 4:24 - and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true
righteousness and holiness.
Ph. 1:11 - filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus
Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
2 Cor. 2:14 - But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in
triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance
of the knowledge of him everywhere.
1Jn 3:9 - No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed
abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been
born of God.
What God see for the spiritual body of Christ, the Church?
Mt. 16:18 - I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail
against it.
Eph 4:11-13 - And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of
ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the
measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,
Eph 1:22,23 - And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over
all things to the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of
him who fills all in all.
Pro 29:18 - Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
